About ECOWAS TPO

The ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organization Network is a collaborative platform established by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to promote trade development and enhance the competitiveness of the West African region.

We work closely with the ECOWAS Commission and various trade support institutions to facilitate business growth, foster inter-institutional cooperation, and provide valuable resources and services to businesses operating within and beyond the West African region.

OBJECTIVES

Strengthening Competitiveness

We aim to meet the expectations of the private sector by enhancing the competitiveness of West Africa through the development of value chains and business linkages. By doing so, we contribute to the economic growth and development of the region while complementing the efforts of the ECOWAS Commission.

Facilitating Trade

The ECOWAS TPO Network plays a vital role in promoting intra- and extra-regional trade. We provide a central forum for discussions on business, trade, and economics at the regional and international levels. Our goal is to increase trade volume, value, and the number of competitive exporters within the ECOWAS region.

Collaboration and Capacity Building

We foster strong collaboration among Network members, including Trade Promotion Organizations, private sector organizations, development banks, and international organizations. Through this collaboration, we aim to strengthen the operational capacities and performance of our members. We also develop programs to enhance the managerial and operational capabilities of TPOs, ensuring effective and lasting support services for companies operating in high-potential value chains.

Regional Development:

By promoting inter-institutional cooperation and exchange of commercial information, we facilitate business relationships among companies within the region. Our focus is on supporting the development of regional value chains, promoting the goods and services manufactured in West Africa, and fostering intra-regional trade.
